SECUNDINO RIVERA

124476084-2160013974131938-5137951183845714133-nSecundino Rivera has been one of the great artists to portray the landscapes of Olmeda de las Fuentes as well as taking multiple portraits of its inhabitants.

He was born in O Barqueiro, province of A Coruña in 1932. In 1955 he established his residence in Caracas.n 1959 he began his studies of drawing and sculpture at the Taller de Libre Arte, where he will be a student until 1962.

In 1960 he ingress in  La Escuela El Bosque, founded and directed by Francisco San José and Pilar Aranda, where he continued his training for six years.

In 1966 he returned to Europe and took up residence for him in Paris, where he continued his training. During these years he visit regulary La Olmeda, where his friend Francisco San José had his studio. Here he met other painters from the Escuela de Madrid, such as Luis García Ochoa and Álvaro Delgado.

In 1972 he returned to Venezuela to establish a Painting and Drawing School Workshop in Caracas.

In 2003 he returned to Spain with his family and established his residence in Olmeda.

He has made numerous exhibitions throughout his career, especially in Caracas and his native Galicia, where he has enjoyed great recognition.

Secundino was a great landscaper, draftsman, and sculptor. He passed away in 2013 in Madrid.
